Heartbreaking: Dogs on chains all day
I’m 10 years old. I was wondering if you guys could write something in the newspaper about keeping dogs off chains? I love animals, and it breaks my heart to see them on chains. You wonder why I ask? I think it is a good thing to do because all they have to do is lay around all day without playing or having fun.
There is a house with a Doberman outside the house on a little chain, without anything soft to sleep on, no food or water. It comes in at night. Whenever I walk by, it makes me more sad every time. It just lays there, doing little barks for a big dog. It looks so weak.
Anyways, my point is, I think it will help if you put it in The Dispatch so everyone can see my opinion, and try to get to all the people who keep them on chains.

Marching band was a parade highlight
Thank you to the members of the Eatonville High School band, who entertained us so enthusiastically on July 4, and to the director, Susie Danielson. Some of you probably sacrificed all-day plans to be elsewhere. You looked good, sounded great, and made many of us glad we chose to attend the parade that day.
I would also like to congratulate you on your excellent showing in the Florida high school band competition, where you took first place in your division. The town of Eatonville is very proud of you.
