State game agents last week were tracking a cougar that reportedly killed a horse near Eatonville.

Craig Bartlett, a spokesman for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, said Thursday that one of the department’s officers took a tracking dog last Wednesday to the area where the attack occurred in an effort to find the cougar. No other information was available from the agency.

The owner of a horse reported that the animal was killed by a cougar. The attack occurred in the area of Campbell Lane East.
