The stakes get bigger this week for Eatonville High School’s track and field athletes.
They’ll compete Thursday and Saturday in the class 1A tri-district meet at King’s High School in Shoreline. The top six finishers in each event will qualify for the state championships, which will be held May 25-26 in Tacoma.
A combined 27 competitors from Eatonville are in the running for state berths after finishing fifth or better in events in Nisqually League/District 3 championships last week. The two-day meet was hosted by the Cruisers, who won the boys’ team title. Eatonville finished second in the girls’ half of the meet, behind Cedar Park Christian.
