The Eatonville Family Agency and Mountain Community Garden have joined to fight hunger and provide more nutritious options at the local food bank.
This Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a food drive to help stock the food bank shelves, which are typically low at this time of year. Particularly needed are protein non-perishables, such as tuna, beans, chicken, and peanut butter.
The community is urged to visit the Mountain Community Garden in Eatonville (located next to Chopstix on Center Street East in Eatonville) and drop off donations, and to receive some thank-you seeds.
Mountain Community Garden’s open house will be held the same day. Visitors can tour the garden, purchase a raised bed, and/or attend one or all of the free workshops.
