Orting scored 20 unanswered points in the first quarter and rolled from there to a 34-13 victory over Eatonville last Friday in the first game of the 2013 high school season for both teams.
Quarterback Eddie Prong’s two touchdown passes paced the Cardinals’ offense, while their defense was led by Marquis Olmsted, who recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass to go along with four tackles.
Eatonville’s touchdowns were scored in the fourth quarter by running back Jeff Patterson and wide receiver Joe Evans, who hauled in a pass from quarterback Jacob McCormick – one of 12 completions on 18 throws by McCormick, who finished with 111 yards.
