Why would a school need a fund raiser when 70++ of my property taxes goes to education slush fund. Or is that a slush fund for the government to spend where they want. The feast should be free since I feed about $720 a year in taxes to the Education fund and have no kids in school. If I cant go for free then I guess I got ripped off again by the government saying Im putting money in to the Education slush fund.

I would like to respond to Mr. Waston’s typically inane statements, but it is hard to understand what he is talking about. I am not sure what ’70++ of property taxes’ is, but I guess my education could have used a bit more in funding because I have no clue what that statement refers to. However, I am at least happy we do not have to read Mr. Waston’s homophic statements again and suggest that an educated society benefits all and not just those with children currently in school.

Sports fundraisers are a common event at most levels of public schools. They pay for the things that the school budget will not, things like the awards banquet, new equipment, special instructors/coaches, extra costs while attending tournaments. Support the kids, give them interests that keep them in school.
