The recent effort earned Madison a WIAA Athlete of the Week award for 2A track statewide. The honor comes from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, the governing body of high school athletics in the state.
Twenty schools entered the Ice Breaker. Eatonville's girls finished fourth and the boys were 13th in the team scoring. Elma won the girls' competition and shared the boys' title with Pe Ell.
In addition to Madison, Eatonville's individual event winners were Isabelle Snyder in the girls' 3200 (12:53.56) and Ryan Antonson in the boys' javelin (156 feet 8 inches).
