The Cruisers run to the state tournament came to an unfortunate end on Wednesday, May 8th as they dropped their loser out district game to North Kitsap 6-3.

The Cruisers took the lead early when Andrew Wiklund hit a double to left to drive in Zach Smith who led off the game with a walk to put the Cruisers up 1-0.

Eatonville would extend that lead in the 2nd to 3-0. After Jacob Lucht singled and Caden Jumper reached on an error, Brandon Storm laid down a bunt single to score Lucht. With Jumper and Storm on base, Wiklund would draw a walk to load the bases. Jarod Humphrey would then draw a bases loaded walk scoring Jumper to extend the Cruisers lead.

The game would stay at 3-0 until the 4th inning when the Vikings would grind out a couple of runs to trail by 1.

In the bottom of the 6th inning with the Cruisers up 3-2, North Kitsap would get to Wiklund on the mound. After hitting the leadoff batter, Wiklund would give up a single up the middle and then hit the next batter to load the bases. He would get the next two batters to line out and pop out. With 2 outs in the inning, the next batter would hit a sharp single to center that would drive in 2 and give the Vikings a 4-3 lead.

Coach Moeller would make a switch a pitcher for the Cruisers and bring Blain Hanley in. Hanley would quickly give up a single to the first batter he faced who would drive in 2 more runs to increase the North Kitsap lead to 6-3.

In the 7th, Jarod Humphrey would reach base on an error and then Ryan Rogers would get aboard after being hit by a pitch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two outs, Josh Kondra would strike out to stall the Cruisers threat and end the game and the Cruisers season.

The Cruisers would finish with an 11-11 record.
