The Lady Cruisers, riding a 10-point victory over the Tenino Beavers just before their holiday break, welcomed in the Elma Eagles to Rainier Connect Arena this past Thursday night in a non-league affair.

The Cruisers struggled with the Eagles’ full court press for most of the game. The Eagle defense forced 31 Cruiser turnovers on the night. The turnovers combined with the Cruisers shooting only 24 percent (10-41) from the field didn’t bode well for Eatonville.

The Eagles jumped out to a 19-7 lead after the first period of play.

The Cruisers played them close for the rest of the game, but that first-quarter performance would be the key for the Eagles as they picked up their seventh win of the season, 49-30.

Hailey Rath led the Cruisers in scoring with 9 points.

The loss drops the Lady Cruisers to 3-5 on the season as they prepare to take on the Washington Patriots at Washington HS on Tuesday. Tip off will be at 7 p.m. They will finish off the week hosting the Highline Pirates on Friday at 5:15 p.m.
