This past Tuesday night, the Lady Cruisers played host to the Steilacoom Sentinels. The Sentinels were looking to pick up their first win over the Cruisers since 2008.

Kya Stewart and the rest of the Lady Cruisers were going to make sure that didn’t happen. Stewart would drop 28 points on the Sentinels to help the Cruisers extend their win streak over Steilacoom to 17 games with a 49-28 victory.

Stewart also pulled down 12 rebounds in the game to record her second double-double (double digits in two stat categories) of the young season.

Also scoring for the Cruisers:

Hailey Rath: 11 points, 9 rebounds

Andrea Hutchings: 8 points, 5 rebounds

Alexia Price: 2 points, 3 rebounds

Riding high off that win, the Cruisers would play host to their longtime rivals, the Orting Cardinals on Friday.

After trailing by 3 after the first quarter, the Cruisers rallied to tie the game up at 20 a piece going in to halftime.

Orting would outscore the Cruisers 14-8 in the third quarter to take a 34-28 lead into the final quarter.

The Cruisers would battle hard to overtake the Cardinals, but Orting would take the win 50-44.

Brooklynn Lucht would lead the Cruisers in scoring with 12 points and 9 rebounds, followed closely by Kya Stewart’s 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Stewart would pick up her third double-double of the season in just the 4th game of the season.
