Eatonville is home to an annual Independence Day July Celebration that leaves revelers coming back for more, as this celebration grows each year. Independence Day celebrating in Eatonville really starts at the July 3 festivities. Throughout the evening there are activities and great food, along with live music by The Aury Moore Band and the Brothers Rowe.

The Chamber of Commerce sponsors the celebration each year on the 3rd and 4th of July each year.

“The event has something for everyone and of course the hottest fireworks around,” said Chamber of Commerce President Alana Smith. “The annual Parade is a hometown tradition that draws spectators to Eatonville to celebrate Independence Day.

She added the annual event draws more than 7,000 people to Eatonville and has great economic impact on businesses in the area,

“Each year this event relies entirely on community donations to put on the event, and people are always ready to contribute. There’s a special closeness in our small town, we see this when there’s a need in our community people are there to help. These events are important to get communities together,” Smith said.

“That impact goes beyond tradition and entertainment. It’s also about the economy. More spectators bring in more money for local businesses. Everybody wants to celebrate the Fourth of July. It has a huge impact on the community.”

Smith noted there’s something enchanting about enjoying Independence Day the same way people have for decades, even if past generations weren’t able to Facebook their celebration selfies.

“It’s hard to beat spreading out a blanket and taking in some America the beautiful,” Smith said. “We celebrate our nation’s independence with dazzling fireworks displays.
There is still time to join in the Eatonville parade. Parade entries applications are available to pick up at All About You Salon and the Eatonville Community Center.
