Plans for a public park in Frederickson will be the subject of a public meeting Sept. 20 hosted by Pierce County Parks and Recreation. The meeting, scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Clover Creek Elementary School (16715 36th Ave. E.), will focus on a conceptual design for the proosed Cross Park. The public can give input in addition to getting information on the process and timelines for the final plans. The site of Cross Park is at 4418 Military Road. A preliminary master planfor the new county park was developed in 2015. Proposals have included trails, picnic areas, restrooms and natural areas. Support for the project has come from community members and organizations. The latter include Frederickson-Clover Creek Community Council and Friends of Stan and Joan Cross Park, a fund-raising group named for the couple who sold land for the park to the county in 2003.
