Help asked, reward offered for catching armed robber

Authorities are asking for the public's help GÇô with a reward possible GÇô to identify the suspect responsible for at least four armed robberies of gas stations in an eight-day period in the Parkland-Spanaway area earlier this year. According to Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers, the robberies occurred at: " 9:05 p.m. on Feb. 25 and 11:45 p.m. on March 5 at the Shell station on Pacific Avenue South in Parkland. " 12 a.m. on Feb. 26 at Union 76 on Steele Steele Street South in Parkland. " 12:55 a.m. on Feb. 28 at Chevron on Pacific Avenue South in Spanaway. The Pierce County Sheriff Department reported the suspect entered the stores, showed a small, silver handgun from his pocket, demanded cash and threatened the store clerks. The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, between 6 feet and 6 feet 3 inches tall, and 185 to 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark pants, black gloves, a black beanie cap and a black ski mask. Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest and charges by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or leaving an e-mail through the web site tpcrimestoppers.com. Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization that publicizes unsolved cases and raises money to offer as rewards in helping police solve crimes and find wanted fugitives.-á Crime Stoppers works with the media to publicize unsolved crimes, takes anonymous tips from the public on unsolved crimes, distributes the tips to law enforcement for investigation, and pays cash rewards to tipsters whose information leads to an arrest and charges filed.
