John passed peacefully July 20, 2016 in Alder from cancer. He was 72 years old, born November 25, 1943 in Eatonville. He was the only son, and seventh child born to George and Alice (Stackhouse) Jones. He lived most of his life in Eatonville, but also lived in Seattle, Tacoma and Yelm. He married Pamela Gregory March 4, 1973 in Tacoma. They had one son, Bryon in 1981. They divorced in 1989. He enjoyed playing his drums with several bands in various establishments, fishing with friends and family and riding horses. His favorite type of music was country western. During his lifetime, John had three seeing-eye dogs: Lady (1959-1968), Brandy (1972-1981) and Evan (1984). He was preceded in death by his dad, George (1967), his mom, Alice (1954), four sisters (two stillborn before 1943), Beatrice Dolman (1993) and Beverly Cronkhite (1988); two nieces and one nephew. He is survived by his son, Bryon, of Lakewood and two sisters, Violet (Bob) Bowdler of Warrenton, Oregon and Alta Drane of Bremerton, along with a favorite cousin, Alvin Jones, and 19 nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes to Lee and Cindy Morey for taking care of him in his final days; along with Hospice, Dr. Peter Karlin of Eatonville and the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. A memorial gathering will be Sunday, August 14th at 1pm at the Eagles in Eatonville.
