Land-use panel active again

The Parkland-Spanaway-Midland Land-Use Advisory Commission is back to giving Pierce County advice following the appointment of a new member. The commission, which advises Pierce County officials on local land-use issues, got a fifth member April 14 with the County Council's confirmation of Lonnie Teater. Teater was appointed by County Executive Pat McCarthy. The-ácommission can have a maximum of nine members GÇô three each from the Parkland, Spanaway and-áMidland communities GÇô and needs at least five members to conduct business. Until Teater's appointment, the panel was inactive because the membership had dropped to four. Commission members are appointed by the executive to four-year terms. Land-use advisory commissions also exist for the Graham, Frederickson and South Hill communities.
