More traffic delays on SR-161

Patience will be a virtue the rest of this week for motorists on a portion of State Route 161 near Eatonville that's scheduled for some finishing touches on a repaving project From Wednesday through Friday, crews from the state Department of Transportation will install reflective, recessed pavement markers and other lane markings on the highway from Lynch Street East to 304th Street East. In July, the same stretch of SR-161 received a new chip seal surface. This week, as was the case during the earlier work, pilot cars will guide a single, alternating lane of traffic through the work zone in two-mile increments. Drivers should be prepared for delays and should drive through the zone with caution, a DOT spokesman said. To keep traffic moving, no lane closures will occur between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., the spokesman said.
