No entry fee at parks

Admission to state and national parks will be free Aug. 25 in recognition of the 99th anniversary of the National Park Service. The offer applies only to day-use visits with vehicles, not overnight stays or rented facilities. Regular fees will be charged for those services. Admission to Mount Rainier National Park normally costs $25 per vehicle. The entrance fee for Washington's state parks is $10 for a one-day permit or $30 for an annual Discover Pass.
