School official injured in bike marathon

A Bethel School District official was hospitalized after being injured in an accident while riding in the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic marathon last Saturday. Jay Brower, the district's director of community connections, fell from his bicycle in Seattle shortly after the 200-mile ride began. He reportedly was knocked unconscious. Brower was taken by emergency medical personnel to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of injuries that weren't life-threatening.
