Thanks to many, Art in Bloom was a success

Thank you to everyone who helped make Art in Bloom Garden Tour and Art Show, held July 15-16, a great success. This year we raised approximately $3,600 for the Eatonville Family Agency and the food bank.
It wouldn’t have been possible without the work put in by the organizers – Nancy Iams, Terry and Sharon Van Eaton (who also donated the use of their fabulous garden), Chris Bivins, Vera Fair, Lynn Smith, Sue Turner and Louise Carson.
Also, thanks go out to the gardeners that put in countless hours getting their spectacular gardens ready to be viewed: Kathy and Louie Mettler, Kathleen and Ken Owens, Kirk and Tara Heinz, and Chris Bivins (he does the art, I do the flowers).
A shout also goes out to all of the generous sponsors and to an incredible group of artists and crafters. Thanks, too, to the Eatonville cheerleaders, high school volunteers, and the Dogwood Garden Club who helped things run smoothly from start to finish.
And this year, we also want to thank musicians Chris Bivins, Bob Miller, David Wuller and Lily Nelson, who serenaded attendees on the guitar, saxophone, fiddle and violin throughout the event.
Mostly, we would like to thank the community who came and participated. You are amazing. Your participation has made this community a better place. Thank you.
Diane Mettler
