Sheila Ann Harnden

Sheila Ann (Upchurch) Harnden, age 78, of Spanaway, Washington, passed away on 24 December 2016 of heart-related causes. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the calling as a primary teacher for several years. Faith in her Savior Jesus Christ helped her to endure her illness well as she patiently waited, for the Lord to call her, in His own time.

Sheila was born in Huntingdon, England on 23 November 1938. She married Giles Harnden on 13 October 1956 and they were married for 45 years. 

Sheila is survived by her sister Maureen Hollis and brother Trevor Upchurch, residing in England; sons Steven and wife Teresa of Auburn, Washington; David and wife Jean of Cibolo, Texas; and Walter and wife Kristine of Phoenix, Arizona; along with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter Upchurch and Alice Willows; husband Giles; brother Peter Upchurch; and sisters Audrey Boheler and Eileen Upchurch.

Services will be held 14 January 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ meetinghouse located at 6901 224th Street East, Spanaway. Burial will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington.
