All-SPSL baseball kudos for 10 Cruisers

Eatonville's success in the 2017 high school baseball season received some more validation in the selections for All-2A South Puget Sound League honors.
A combined 10 Cruisers were named to the first or second all-league teams or were given honorable mention.
The first-team choices are infielder Brooks Moeller, outfielder A.J. Goetz, pitcher Daniel Fuller, and catcher Joel Rodriguez.
The second-teamers are outfielders Justin Brandt and Jared Henricksen, infielder Zach Smith, utility player Andrew Streich, and pitcher T.J. Goetz.
Honorable mention went to infielder Jay Brymer and pitcher Colin Streich.
Eatonville advanced to the state regionals, falling just short of a trip to at least the semifinals of the state tournament. W.F. West, rallying from an early 6-0 deficit, nipped the Cruisers 8-7 and knocked them out of contention.
Eatonville reached the regionals by finishing among the top six teams in the West Central District playoffs.
That feat followed a regular season in which the Cruisers finished second in the SPSL's Sound Division. At one point in May, they were riding a 10-game winning streak that made them one of the hottest clubs heading into the playoffs.
Coach Mike Moeller, who recorded his 200th career coaching victory this season, said his team can be proud of its accomplishments in 2017.
"They had an exciting and incredible run, posting 18 wins on the year and setting marks for hits, runs scored and batting averages along the way," he said.
