The Bethel Braves, playing on their home turf at Art Crate Field, defeated Yelm 32-22 in the district playoffs Friday to advance to the 3A state high school football tournament.
The Braves’ first-round opponent in the 16-team tourney will be undefeated Ferndale, which will be the host team Nov. 10 at Civic Stadium for the right to move on to the quarterfinals the following week against either Mercer Island or O’Dea.
