Lady Cruisers stay undefeated in league play

The Lady Cruiser fastpitch team continued their dominance of the South Puget Sound League (SPSL) 2A again last week with wins over White River, Franklin Pierce and non-league opponent Emerald Ridge, a 4A team. The Cruisers improved their overall record to 7-1 for the season, 3-0 in SPSL 2A East league play.

White River walks away defeated by Cruisers

The Hornets struck first in the bottom of the opening inning by plating two runs off starter Haley Olson. White River’s Peyton Wallen singled in the first run and that was the last hit that Olson gave up. She cruised through the final six innings, giving up no hits, walking five and striking out one. For the offense, the Lady Cruisers watched Brooklynn Lucht’s bat stay hot as she went 2-3 with a double, drove in one and scored one. Mary Chabot picked up two hits and scored a run.

Cruisers nearly annihilate Franklin Pierce

The Cruisers wasted no time and took the lead early in the first inning against Franklin Pierce and never looked back. Eatonville scored runs in every inning and took the win in the mercy rule shortened game.

Haley Olson picked up the win for the Cruisers by going four innings and giving up four runs on five hits, walking one and striking out six. Shayla Coleman came in for one inning of relief and gave up one hit and struck out one.

Brooklynn Lucht added another grand slam to her season stats when she went 3-5 with a grand slam, scored three runs and drove in a team high 8 run batted hits. Dakota Smith also left the yard with her first homerun of the season. She ended up going 1-3 with a homerun, scored two runs and drove in three. Haley Rath went 3-4 with a triple, two doubles, scored four runs and drove in three. Olson contributed three hits as well driving in three runs with her two doubles.

Cruisers finish out the winning weekend

The Cruisers put up 13 runs on the 4A Jaguars before they gave up a run in the fourth. Haley Olson threw a complete game, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while striking out four to pick up the win. At the plate for the Cruisers, Haley Rath and Mackenzie Waller led the Cruiser with three hits each. Both hit doubles in the game and Rath also added a triple.
