Cruiser swim team finish off regular season strong

After suffering a couple of non-league defeats the previous week, the Cruiser swim team was looking to bounce back and finish the regular season strong with matches against Foss and River Ridge.

On Tuesday, the would show no mercy on Foss as they would sink them by a score of 131-25.

Picking up wins for the Cruisers would be a long list of swimmers. All three of the Cruiser relay teams would pick up victories. The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Jolee Thirtyacre, Autumn Boyce, Leah Bovey and Kayla Trujillo, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of McKenna Wagner, Celesta Chua, Jolee Thirtyacre, and Kayla Trujillo, and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Celeste Chua, Autumn Boyce, Sadie Schier, and Kayla Trujillo.

Individual winners for the Cruisers would be:

McKenna Wagner – 200 Yard Freestyle

Celeste Chua – 200 Yard Individual Medley

Autumn Boyce – 100 Yard Breaststroke

Leah Bovey – 100 Yard Butterfly

Kayla Trujillo – 100 Yard Freestyle

Alyssa Woodbury – 100 Yard Backstroke

Coming off that big win, the Cruisers would host the River Ridge Hawks on Senior Night. The Cruiser swimmers wouldn’t disappoint.

They would again come up with a huge win, drowning the Hawks 110-57.

Two of the three Cruiser relay teams would pick up wins. The 200 Yard Freestyle team of Boyce, Chua, Schier, and Trujillo and the 400 Yard relay team of Wagner, Thirtyacre, Chua, and Trujillo.

Individually for the Cruisers, these swimmers would also pick up victories:

Mckenna Wagner – 200 Yard Freestyle & 500 Yard Freestyle

Kayla Trujillo – 50 Yard Freestyle

Jolee Thirtyacre – 500 Yard Freestyle

Leah Bovey – 100 Yard Butterfly

Kayla Trujillo – 100 Yard Freestyle

Autumn Boyce – 100 Yard Breaststroke

Next up for the Cruiser swim team will be a trip to the post season and the league meet at Hazen High School on Saturday in hopes of qualifying for the district meet the following week.
