4H State Archery Tournament

The 4H State Archery Tournament took place at the Upper Nisqually Sportsman Club in Eatonville, Wash. on May 17 and 18. It was the qualifying tournament for Nationals.

Nock and Fire 4H had many archers who placed first, second and third overall in FITA, Field and 3D. First place winners wereCallie White in Senior Recurve, Eleanor Pahl in Intermediate Recurve, and Samuel Koch in Junior Recurve. Second place winner was Erin White in Intermediate Recurve. Third place winner was Cloe Franco in Intermediate Recurve. The Nock and Fire Recurve Team with Callie White, Erin White and Samuel Koch won first place for the Team Shoot.

Nock and Fire Archery also came home with The Golden Arrow Award for the second year in a row. This award is given to the team with the most archers placed in the top four in each division.

During the fundraiser "X's For Oso,GÇ¥ Nock and Fire archers shot 127 X's.-á The members are still collecting donations so there is no final total yet.

Editor's Note: The author, Sabrina Simmons, is a member of Nock and Fire, and is 12. Nock and Fire is a Snohomish County 4H archery team that meets at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. It is open to anyone grades 3-12 interested in archery. 4H membership isn't mandatory. Practices are Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. at the Beef Pavillion.-á
