AECO Technologies builds an animal shelter for Pasado's Safe Haven

AECO Technologies (14792 172nd Drive S.E.) has completed the construction of an animal shelter for Pasado's Safe Haven, a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to care for animals who have been victims of violence and neglect.
Pasado's Safe Haven (P.O. Box 171, Sultan) is housed on 85 acres of land adjacent to the city of Monroe. It is the adoptive home to hundreds of rescued animals, including dogs, cats and various other animals in need.
Nearing the end of 2013, Pasado's had several construction projects on its "wish list.GÇ¥ Pasado's Outreach Program Coordinator, Dana Bell, asked whether AECO could assist with the construction of a shed, which will serve as an animal shelter. It is located on a concrete slab that had been poured the previous year by a Pasado's volunteer.
"We were very pleased to contribute the resources and the coordination effort that was needed to make this construction project happen,GÇ¥ said Matthew Calnek, director of AECO Technologies.
AECO worked on designing a structure that would satisfy Pasado's needs. It then reached out to area businesses for their support, and the local community responded warmly.
Monroe's Lowe's store (19393 Tjerne Place S.E.), managed by Robert McClelland, provided a significant price discount on the lumber and other construction materials.
Betty Halvorson, owner of Del's Truck Rentals (19545 Woodinville Snohomish Road N.E.) in Woodinville, donated the use of a flatbed truck for the transportation of the completed shed between AECO's facility and Pasado's site.
The shed construction was completed and transported to Pasado's Safe Haven in early July 2014.
With the help of Dan Friske, Pasado's facilities manager, and his staff, the shed was assembled and secured to the awaiting concrete slab.
