City of Monroe seeks board commissioners

The City of Monroe is currently seeking applicants to fill the following City Boards and Commissions vacancies:
  • One Ethics Board Member. The Ethics Board investigates, conducts hearings, and renders advisory opinions concerning accusations against city officials of violations of ethics or conflicts of interest; also reviews and recommends periodic updates to the city's ethics Policy and its applicability. (3-Year term ending 12/2017)
  • One Library Board Member. The Library Board advises the City Council and Sno-Isle Regional Library System on the operation of the Monroe Library; serves as a key liaison between the two agencies; also works with the library system to develop long-range plans for library services in Monroe. (5-Year term ending 12/2019)
  • Two Park Board Members. The Park Board advises the City Council on the management, supervision, improvement, and budgeting for parks and recreation facilities and programs; also reviews the Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan, assists with new park sites, and advises the City Council on capital projects in city parks. (4-Year term ending 12/2018)
The application deadline for all positions is Friday, November 14, 2014.
