Dennis Blansett

On March 25th, the day before his 76th birthday, we lost our beloved Brother, Father, Husband, Uncle and Grandfather. Dennis Blansett was the only son of Benson and Doris Blansett, who preceded him in death as well as his infant sister, Judy. He is survived by his wife Sherrie, sister Nance, daughters: Kendall, Heidi, Lori and Vicki, nephews and niece, seven step children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dennis was born in a house in Gold Bar. After graduating from Sultan High in 1957 he began his machinist career at Boeing, and not long after started his own shop.-á He then began teaching, first at Renton Technical College, Bellingham C.C, retiring from Green River C.C, then teaching and retiring again from Sno-Isle Tech in Everett. He taught hundreds of aspiring machinists all over the N.W. Retirement just wasn't for him so he joined the Docufeed Co. where here could still teach and do what he loved best: design, blacksmith, and machine precision parts for countless projects that came his way. He loved the challenge, was a master at his work, and was always willing to share his help and knowledge with anyone. If you knew Dennis your relationship was probably associated with his love of cars and car shows. He spent over 63+ years working on cars. From body work to mechanics, there was no problem he could not fix. You could always find Dennis either working in his garden, but mostly in his garage. His was the place where you could stop by to get help or advice, a part or a tire pumped. Or just talk about the good old days. Every visit would include a garage tour with a detailed account of a current project, usually concluding with an anecdote or tale of mischief he'd gotten into as a youth.-á Dennis and a few friends established the Gold Bar car show in 2005. They continue to make it a better show each and every year. This years' car show, July 25th, will be a tribute to Dennis and what he loved best. Services will be held Saturday April 25th 1:00pm at Valley Church of Nazarene 13725 367th Ave. S.E., Startup, WA. A celebration of Dennis' life will follow immediately at Docufeed Technologies: 32533 Cascade View Drive, Sultan, WA. Please come share your cars and stories. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the Dennis Blansett Vocational Scholarship in care of Sultan Education Foundation at P.O. Box 541, Sultan, WA. 98294.Dennis Blansett
