Gerhard “Gary” Frederick Ericksen, born February 11, 1933 in Seattle, WA to Lloyd and Helen Ericksen, departed this life on December 8, 2016 in Everett, WA. He was 83. Gary proudly served his country in the US Navy. He had worked as a custodian for the Northshore School District for over 30 years. He enjoyed model boats and was a member of Northwest RC Model Boat Club. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Sky Valley Food Bank and spending time with his family and friends. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth, daughter Marilyn Ericksen of Arlington, son Paul Ericksen and his wife Lennie of Monroe, grandchildren Raziel Ericksen, Helen Sherman (Derrick), and PJ Ericksen, great-grandchildren Seth, Savannah, and Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Gloria McNeley. A memorial service celebrating Gary’s life will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 2 pm at Monroe Church of the Nazarene, 322 W. Main St., Monroe. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Sky Valley Food Bank, 233 Sky River Pkwy., Monroe, svfoodbank.org/donate.
