SULTAN HIGH COURT

 
Sultan High celebrated Homecoming at the half honoring Queen Julianne Tran and King Cooper Beucherie, center, with the Court including Antonio Rivas, Tiannah Day, Jordan Swift, Shelby Jefferies, Tyler Force, Khayla MacKenzie, Skyler Funderbuck and Anna Biddle.
TURKS TAKE TO THE STREETS

Sultan's annual homecoming parade took place on Friday afternoon at around 12:30 p.m.-á The celebration featured the Sultan High School Marching Band, homecoming royalty, various sports teams, Snohomish County Sheriff's office, Snohomish County Fire District 5, the Sultan Elementary School unicycle team, Sultan Mayor Carolyn Eslick and a whole lot of Turk pride.
"We are one of the very few high schools that still do a homecoming parade,GÇ¥ said Mayor Eslick.

TURKS TAKE ON LAKEWOOD AT HOMECOMING

Sultan Turk junior #21 James MacKenzie looks for the open hole in first-half action in the Turks' Homecoming 9-27 loss to powerhouse Lakewood Friday. The Turks scored first on a field goal after repeatedly being smashed by the Lakewood defensive line on third downs with scoring opportunities. Lakewood owned the second half when their offense went to work while the Lakewood defense continued to thwart the Turks.

MONROE EKE'S OUT 27-20 VICTORY OVER PANTHERS IN HOMECOMING CLIFFHANGER
 


Monroe's rowdy homecoming crowd had a night to remember Friday, when a hard-fought battle with the Snohomish Panthers went into overtime until Monroe scored a touchdown on the team's first possession.
Gabe Moore had a big night for the Bearcats, rushing 80 yards.
Snohomish hung on grimly into the fourth quarter when two field goals kept them in the game.
But shortly into overtime, quarterback Andrew Zimmerman connected with Shanden Mixayphone on a six-yard pass that gave the Bearcats the touchdown, and the 27-20 win.
FLAG AND DANCE TEAM
The Monroe Dance Team added color and excitement to Homecoming night with a performance on the high school track.

GLEE ON THE GOLF COURSE

The royal homecoming court included princesses Alyson Gonzalez, Tellis Aucion, Brittany Schwindt and Jamie Hawkins. Princes were Lucas Waller, Hunter Bingham, Gabe Moore and Chase DiMonda. The Duke and Duchess were Tom Kerns and Brianna Brady, and the King and Queen were Martin Creed and Nicole Alexander.
