LETTER TO THE EDITOR: After 30 years visiting Monroe, old town not what it once was

My wife and I were visiting friends in Monroe over New Years weekend. We were aghast at the state we found old town in. Vacancies all over, reduced parking, slippery icey sidewalks, and worst off abundant spots where feces was sitting deep in the new exposed sidewalk finish. What has happened to this quaint little town?

The street was barren of cars and people on a Saturday morning? We then headed over to old town Snohomish where we found the exact opposite.

We have been coming to Monroe for close to 30 years now and cannot believe what has transpired. Sad to see.
