An Issaquah man was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly struck a woman with the car he was driving in Snohomish.

The two reportedly had an argument as the 54-year-old man drove the victim to a location in the 6900 block of 135th Street Southeast, according to a Snohomish County Sheriff's Office news release. Deputies arrived at the scene around 11 p.m. to find the woman being treated by aid units on a stretcher.

Sheriff’s office spokesperson Shari Ireton tells the Monitor the man struck the woman as he was leaving the location. The force knocked her to the ground, and she sustained an injury to her leg for which she was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The man's blood was drawn for testing and he was booked into Snohomish County Jail for vehicular assault, according to the release.

Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating. Ireton reports that they will determine how fast the man was driving when he hit the victim, but that it could take a few weeks before that report is ready.
