New Monroe farmers market to open this week

Starting this week, Monroe's brand new Farm to Table Farmers Market will begin providing fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods and other handcrafted items to the citizens of Monroe and the greater Sky Valley area.
Located near Traveler's Park at 501 E. Main St., the grand opening will take place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15. The market will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the summer months, coming to a close in the fall. The weekly market will feature local produce, hot food, live music, kids' corner and a beer garden.
Farm to Table was founded by Monroe resident Molly Daniels, who recognized the community need. She hopes that the market will help facilitate local access to fresh, organically grown food that hasn't been heavily processed.
"My kids love going to Farmers Markets,GÇ¥ Daniels said. "One of the traditions we have is finding one fruit and one vegetable for every color of the rainbow. Being a mom of four, I try very hard to buy as fresh as possible.GÇ¥
Farm to Table vendors will include Skagit Sun Berries, Rainy Sunday Ranch, Sky Harvest Produce, Jodie's Garden Spot, Sky Valley Nursery, Heavenly Soap, Real Deals, Tupperware, Kenzie's Pendants, Papa's Wood Fired Pizza, Adam's Northwest Bistro and Brewery, Yoforit Frozen Yogurt, Waterwheel Creek Farm, Sammich Nutters and many others.
