Night closures planned for 522 onramp this week

MONROE GÇô Drivers who use State Route 522 in Monroe should be prepared for overnight ramp closures at 164th Street Southeast /Main Street this week. A signed detour via Fryelands Boulevard will be in place during the closures.
 
The 164th Street Southeast on-ramp to eastbound SR 522 will be closed the nights of Monday, March 17 and Tuesday, March 18 for drainage work. The closure hours are 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
 
Drivers also should be prepared for nightly lane closures of SR 522 between the Snohomish River Bridge and U.S. 2, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, March 17 to the morning of Friday, March 21.-á Contractor crews will build retaining walls and perform pavement repair. Flaggers will control traffic through the work zone.
 
The work is part of the-áSR 522 widening project, which will add two new westbound lanes to the highway in the Monroe area from U.S. 2 to the Snohomish River Bridge. The widening project is scheduled to be complete in late 2014.
