On Saturday, August 3, Monroe Grocery Outlet sponsored a hot dog sale to benefit the Sky Valley Food Bank. Food Bank volunteers cooked and served the hot dogs donated by Grocery Outlet. All of the proceeds from the sale went directly to feeding families in Monroe, and the money from the sale was directly matched with another donation by Grocery Outlet.
This was held as part of the Grocery Outlet's month-long Independence from Hunger Food Drive. All donations collected throughout the month of July were given to the Sky Valley Food Bank.
The Monroe Grocery Outlet and their generous customers donated 2,320 pounds of food during the month, and collected enough money to purchase 250 backpacks for the Sky Valley Food Bank's school supply drive.
