Karissa Kelley, a Sultan High School biology and chemistry teacher, was named the 2015 recipient of the National Science Teachers Association 2015 Maitland P. Simmons Memorial Award for New Teachers.
As the winner of this award, Kelley was awarded an all-expense paid trip to attend the National Science Teacher Association's annual conference in Chicago, Illinois from March 11-15. -á
Kelly said in a press release that she is "excited to be able to attend classes on how to implement the "Next Generation of Science Assessments,' as well as increase my skills in engaging students of all learning styles and abilities.GÇ¥
This is Kelley's second year as a teacher in the Sultan School District.
