Suspect who assaulted deputy in Sultan apprehended

On Saturday, Feb. 15, shortly after 8 p.m., a Snohomish County Sheriff's deputy identified a male who was wanted for burglary and auto theft walking with a companion at the 200 block of Main Street in Sultan. The deputy attempted contact with the suspect at the corner of 3rd and Main. A fight ensued and the suspect managed to escape. The deputy was punched in the face but did not require medical attention. The Snohomish Sheriff's Office contained the area and unsuccessfully attempted to track the suspect using K-9s. At approximately 10:50 p.m., deputies were given information as to where the suspect might be hiding. Deputies were able to find the suspect at that location,the 100 block of Main Street, and the deputy who was involved in the initial altercation took the suspect into custody. In addition to Residential Burglary and Motor Vehicle Theft, the suspect, a resident of Sultan, now faces 3rd Degree Assault Charges.
