Pierce County Council appoints District 3 evening meeting

General housekeeping was the order of the day at the June 1 meeting of the Pierce County Council.

Several people were confirmed to various boards and advisory commissions. Chris Ladish, Dana Orr, Danelle Reed, Elizabeth Grasher, Hayley Smith, Kimberly Bjorn, Lauren Wallin, Lovey Offerle and Ronald Brightmon were confirmed to the Behavioral Health Advisory Board.

Angela Mattison-Lindbom was confirmed as a new member of the Key Peninsula Advisory Commission.

Matthew Mackey was confirmed as a new member to the Frederickson Advisory Commission.

The council also approved the sale of certain county-owned personal property and used equipment to be sold at auction as surplus. Items for sale include two oil distributer trucks, nine 10-yard dump trucks, one sewer cleaner truck, one ditching dump truck and five brush-cutting tractors.

Finally, in accordance with the Pierce County Charter requiring at least one evening meeting per district per year of the Pierce County Council, the council approved the evening District 3 meeting for 7 p.m., June 10, at Pierce County Council Chambers, 930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1045, in Tacoma. Owing to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting will be held with remote participation via Zoom.

District 3 Councilmember Amy Cruver will chair the meeting, which will be held in addition to the regular Monday council meeting. District 3 encompasses Ashford, Eatonville, Elbe, Elk Plain, Frederickson, Graham, Spanaway, Roy, McKenna, Lacamas and Harts Lake.
