Angelina Mireles-Mazza, a senior at Eatonville High School, has been named a Pacific Lutheran University President’s Scholar and awarded the prestigious $30,000 per year President’s Scholarship — with the opportunity to compete for more.

Mireles-Mazza was one of 123 students selected for the top academic and leadership scholarship offered by PLU, a private liberal arts university in Tacoma. Over 400 incoming first-year students who met the high eligibility standards applied. President’s Scholars are selected based on academic achievement, service and leadership, as well as the potential to effect positive change and leadership in both the academic and co-curricular life of PLU, according to a press release. This year’s President’s Scholarship recipients have on average a 3.99 GPA.

Richard Brandt, Eatonville, was named to the The University of Wyoming's 2020 fall semester academic Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman Honor Rolls. The honor rolls consist of regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing who earned a 3.4 or better grade-point average, and freshmen who have earned a 3.25 or better grade-point average.

To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.

Emma Jackson, senior information systems major, Graham, was among more than 1,200 Harding University students included on the dean's list for grades achieved during the fall 2020 semester. The dean's list is published each semester by Dr. Marty Spears, University provost, honoring those who have achieved high scholarship. To be eligible, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.

Harding University is a private Christian university located in Searcy, Arkansas.
