Joanne Lynn Blank passed unexpectedly on March 3rd, 2022. Joanne was born on September 16th, 1942 in Wooster, Ohio to John and Ardes Stout. She graduated from Wooster High School in 1960 and went on to become a nurse at Apple Creek State Institute. In 1973, Joanne married George Blank. They moved to Washington in 1977 and purchased Johnson’s Corner Grocery Store where they lived and worked until 1980. Joanne had many achievements. She was a volunteer Fire Fighter/EMT at Pierce County Fire Department #21 for two years. She was a paid volunteer Fire Fighter/EMT for Pierce County Fire Department #15 for five years. Joanne had a great love for German Sheppards and raised many of them over the years. She was a volunteer for Pierce County Search and Rescue K-9 Unit for many years. Later, she became employed at the Eatonville Post Office where she was a mail carrier until 2005. Joanne was baptized by her Pastor, Dan Tanner of Tanwax Country Chapel in July of 2005. She resided at her home at Rosemont in Yelm and was known for volunteering for many activities. She was loved by all residents and staff. She shared her happiness and joy with all who came in contact with her. She is survived by her children, Tanya Merrill, Kevin Blank (Juli) and Brian Blank (Sharri). She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
