Cruiser boys track wins district title

The Eatonville Cruiser boys track team, the 2022 Evergreen League champions, traveled to Vancouver looking to capture a district title Thursday at the Southwestern Washington 1A District IV meet at Seton Catholic High School.

The Cruiser boys dominated their competition and came away district champions. Eatonville captured the title by a landslide, coming away with 138 points overall, beating the second-place team La Center by 50 points.

Picking up first-place finishes for the Cruisers and punching their ticket to state were: Job Kralik (200 meters), Austin Wicker (400 meters), Kyle Cox (shot put), Jake Wood (javelin) and Ethan Carter (pole vault). As well, Kralik punched his ticket to state in the 100 meters and long jump. Cox and Wood did the same in the discus.

Alex Lambert claimed a first-place finish in the pole vault for the girls with a personal-best mark of 8 feet, 2 inches to punch her ticket to the state championships and help give the girls team a seventh-place finish.

Eatonville will send eight athletes to the state championships Thursday through Saturday at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.
