An Eatonville Middle School student was arrested last Friday on suspicion of threatening other students with violence. The student, a 13-year-old boy in the eighth grade, compiled a "kill and non-kill list,GÇ¥ said Rich Stewart, Eatonville School District's superintendent. The list was reported to school officials by another student. The suspect was taken out of class Friday and questioned, and was then arrested by police and taken to Remann Hall, Pierce County's juvenile detention facility in Tacoma. An investigation was continuing Monday, Stewart said. There was no indication that the boy had weapons or access to any, according to Stewart. School officials "followed our protocolGÇ¥ for responding to such situations, and parents have been assured that "their children are safe,GÇ¥ Stewart said. A recorded telephone call explaining the incident and the school's response was placed to parents by principal Ken Anderson. Stewart said the incident may be discussed during a community meeting next week that the district had previously scheduled for a review of school safety policies of the district and law enforcement authorities. That meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at Eatonville High School's auditorium.
