The fifth annual All Bethel Community Day, a showcase for the Bethel School District and its surrounding community, will be held this Saturday at Spanaway Lake High School. The free-admission event, also known as ABC Day, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will include entertainment and 130 booths with a focus on helping kids of all ages learn, build and play. Among the attractions will be a petting zoo and animals from Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium (with rides on a zebra), Marvel Comics' Spider Man presenting an anti-bullying message, and the mascots of the Seattle Seahawks and the Tacoma Rainiers. Military members from Joint Base Lewis-McChord and fire departments will be on hand with military and emergency-response vehicles. ABC Day was established to showcase the talents of the community and to honor local service members. Families can connect with school, business and community resources. Spanaway Lake High School is located at 1305 168th St. E. in Spanaway. In past years, more than 1,000 people have attended ABC Day. This Saturday, overflow parking will be available at Evergreen Elementary School and Sprinker Recreation Center, where a shuttle will carry people to and from the festivities. Additional information is available from the school district's Community Connections Department at 253-683-6050.
