And then came the game

The Seattle Seahawks' "12th Man" took many forms leading up to the team's Super Bowl showdown. Last Friday, two days before the big game, Eatonville High School students were joined by community members in a march through some Eatonville streets to show their support. They carried banners, wore their Seahawk apparel and shouted their support. Alas, the high spirits were for naught, as Seattle lost to the New England Patriots 28-24 on Sunday. A sizable percentage of fans who responded to an online poll at dispatchnews.com last week predicted the Seahawks' loss. Thirty-five percent answered "Lose by at least a field goal" in response to the question, How much will the Seahawks wins (or lose) by in the Super Bowl? Fifty percent thought they'd win by one touchdown or less, and 15 percent predicted a victory by two or more touchdowns.
