Braves lose in final minute

Bethel's fourth-quarter rally came up a touchdown and less than a minute short as Puyallup held on for a 42-35 victory Thursday between the South Puget Sound League 4A high school football teams. Trailing 35-14 after three periods, Bethel tied the Vikings at 35-35 with less than two minutes left in the game. Puyallup responded with a 62-yard touchdown drive to regain the lead with 30 seconds remaining. Puyallup stayed in contention for a post-season playoffs berth by improving to 4-3 in the SPSL's South division. The Braves, at 2-5 in the league and 2-6 overall, are out of contention for the playoffs. (Read more in the Oct. 30 print edition of The Dispatch)
