Quarterback Jaelin Edwards and receiver Bryce Powers combined on three touchdown passes to lead Cascade Christian to a 42-7 victory over Eatonville in the semifinals of the 1A state high school football tournament Saturday at the Tacoma Dome. Cascade Christian, undefeated at 11-0, moves into the championship game next Saturday against the winner of the other semifinal between Cascade and Colville. Eatonville (11-1), which ended the 2014 season with its first loss, trailed 14-0 after the first quarter and 21-0 at halftime. The Cruisers were on the verge of getting back into the contest in the third period, but were stopped short of a second consecutive touchdown after narrowing the lead to 21-7. Cascade Christian responded minutes later with a 58-yard touchdown run by Zach Bartolome that sealed the win. (Read more in the Dec. 3 print edition of The Dispatch)
