Authorities believe there may be additional victims in a child pornography and molestation case that led last week to the arrest of a Spanaway man.
The State Patrol's Missing and Exploited Children's Task Force-á reported that it's seeking adults or children who might have information about contacts with 20-year old Christopher M. Dupea. Dupea was being-á held in the Pierce County Jail on charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
The case came to light Aug. 20 and evolved into-á two arrests last Thursday. Dupea was seized at his home in Spanaway.
"Because of media reports about the arrest, we got a call from someone in Arizona who'd had online contact withGÇ¥ Dupea, said Lt. Ron Mead, commander of the State Patrol task force. "That and other information leads us to believe there may be additional victims.GÇ¥
According to task force detectives, a 28-year-old woman and Dupea traded sexually explicit messages with images involving underage children, one of them the infant son of the woman. The online exchanges began on a social networking web site and continued with text messaging, which included information that the female had engaged in sexual acts with her infant son, authorities said.
Detectives traced the woman to a residence in Montesano in Grays Harbor County. She was arrested and jailed in that county last Wednesday.
Authorities were in the process last week of serving search warrants for access to the suspects' computer. It was believed by authorities that the computers could contain images of child pornography.
Dupea allegedly used the screen name ChrisD and may have used other names, as well. Detectives believe he might have had online contact with people in Arizona and are concerned about live contact with potential victims in Pierce County, officials said.
