Dead climber identified

A man who died in a fall Sept. 13 while climbing in Mount Rainier National Park has been identified as Timothy Hagen, 62. Hagen, who was from Bellevue, suffered fatal injuries in the fall, according to the Pierce County medical examiner. Park officials said weather conditions that had hampered initial efforts to find Hagen improved in the morning of Sept. 15, allowing searchers to locate and remove his body in the northern part of the park. A helicopter and a ground team of two park rangers assisted in the recovery.
