Edwards helps Eagles advance

Shannon Edwards scored four touchdowns to help lead Graham-Kapowsin to a 42-17 decision over Monroe and a spot in the state 4A high school football tournament. The victory Friday sends the Eagles into a first-round matchup this Friday against Gig Harbor, the champion of the Narrows League. That's how far G-K made it in last year's tourney before bowing out. Edwards' took his reputation as a touchdown producer up another notch against Monroe. He entered the game with 24 of them. His first score against the Bearcats was on a 21-yard run in the first quarter, which ended with his team leading 21-10. And he found the end zone for the Eagles last three TD, helping them put away the Wesco League opponents. (Read more in the Nov. 12 print edition of The Dispatch)
