Ex-youth sports treasurer facing charges

An Eatonville woman is accused by authorities of stealing money from Eatonville Youth Sports Association while she was the group's treasurer. Charges of theft have been filed against Nicole E. Vanbuskirk. A trial is scheduled for July in Bonney Lake Municipal Court, according to Maili Barber, a prosecutor. The town of Eatonville, the jurisdiction where the alleged theft occurred, contracts with Bonney Lake for court services. Details about the case weren't immediately available from authorities, but they confirmed that an investigation by Eatonville Police Department led to charges against Vanbuskirk. According to reports, she was treasurer of Eatonville Youth Sports Association (EYSA) when the organization discovered some of its funds were missing. EYSA is a non-profit organizer of youth basketball, soccer, baseball and softball.
